Before designing a site I always research competitor’s sites. Following general conventions of similar sites lends credibility and familiarity for the user. I can then elevate the site above its competitors to promote the client’s work.
After brainstorming and sketching on paper, I created simple black and white wireframes in figma to begin outlining the design of the website before inserting the actual content.
This style guide was created so the devlopers can easily find the correct fonts, hex codes and other assets. As a developer, I always design with development in mind and an understanding of how to design to make development painless.
The design was submitted for approval and critique, and after a few changes was finished and the prototype was sent to the company’s developers to begin site development.
